Rag Star Pattern
Share
Hello!
Here's a very simple pattern for knitting a star in two rows. In this image, I've knitted it with trapillo yarn, and the result is a star about a hand's width across. It's a beautiful shape that can be added to many types of decorative projects.

The graphic pattern would be like this:

Explanation of the pattern for knitting a star:
We begin the work with a chain or magic ring, which will be the center.
Row 1: We chain 3 stitches, then we crochet 14 double crochets over the central chain. We join with a slip stitch to the third chain we made at the beginning of the row, closing a circle.
Row 2: Chain 6. Over the third chain from the hook (skipped 2), work a single crochet. In the next chain, work a half double crochet. In the next chain, work a double crochet. In the next and final chain, work a double crochet. Join with a slip stitch to the third double crochet from row 1.
We repeat the instructions until we complete the 5 points.
