T-shirt yarn Star Pattern

Here is a very simple pattern for crocheting a star in 2 rounds. In this image, I crocheted it with t-shirt yarn, and the star is approximately the size of a palm. It is a lovely shape that can be added to many types of projects for decoration.

Pattern instructions for crocheting a star:

Begin by making a chain or magic ring, which will be the center.

Round 1: Chain 3, then work 14 double crochets into the central chain. Join with a slip stitch to the third chain made at the beginning of the round, closing the circle.

Round 2: Chain 6. In the third chain from the hook (skipping 2 chains), work 1 single crochet. In the next chain, work 1 half double crochet. In the next chain, work 1 double crochet. In the next and final chain, work 1 treble crochet. Join with a slip stitch to the third double crochet of Round 1.
 

Repeat the instructions until all 5 points are complete.
