📏 Final measures

  • Width: 28 cm
  • Length: 100 cm (adjustable according to taste or quantity of trapillo)

Points used

  • Chain (ch)
  • Single crochet (sc)
  • Double crochet (dc)
  • Open chain (open chain)
  • Slip stitch (slst)

💚 Step-by-step instructions

🔸 Base

  • Crochet 20 chains + 2 more to turn (these 2 do not count as stitches).

🔸 Lap 1

  • 1 dc in the 3rd chain from the hook,
  • 1 dc in each chain to the end.
    → 20 pa.
    Tour.

🔸 Lap 2

  • 2 ch (equivalent to 1 dc).
  • 1 dc, 1 ch, skip 1 st. Repeat the entire round.
→ Finish with 1 dc in the last stitch.
    Tour.

(This is the loop that creates the openwork.)

🔸 Lap 3

  • 2 ch.
  • 1 dc in each stitch and in each chain space of the previous row.
    → Complete turn of pa.
    Tour.

🔸 Repeat the motif:

Repeat rounds 2 and 3 until you reach 100 cm (or the desired length).
Always finish with a turn of stitch to make it straight.

🔸 Final edge

  • Crochet 1 row in single crochet (sc) around the entire edge of the table runner.
  • In the corners, crochet 3 sc together so that it does not fold.
  • If desired, add a final row in slip stitch (sl st) for a neat finish.

Optional: two-tone version

Knit the first 3 rows and the last 3 rows in a second color (for example, sand or ecru), leaving the central body in moss green.

Idealium Tips

  • Lightly block the fabric with your hands when finished so that it is straight.
  • If you want to make it longer, add repeats of the motif (each motif takes up 2 rounds).
  • If you prefer it narrower, reduce the initial chain proportionally (use multiples of 2 + 2).
  • This pattern can also be easily adapted to make placemats or dresser runners .

Bottom line

A handcrafted table runner, with texture and openwork, that conveys the natural charm of Trapillo Terra .
Ideal for dining tables, sideboards or as decoration on light or natural wood.
