Children's cardigan pattern Color Rocks
With this pattern, you can knit a child's jacket using knitting needles, ideal for this season, with softness in both its colors and its texture. Size 2–3 years. Designed by Lanas Rubí.
Materials for knitting the Color Rocks children's jacket
- 2 skeins of Rubí Mini Universe in color 002 (natural)
- 1 skein of Rubí Mini Universe in color 003 (yellow)
- 1 skein of Rubí Mini Universe in color 004 (pink)
- 4 wooden buttons
- 3.5 mm knitting needles
- Wool needle
- Regular sewing needle and thread for sewing on the buttons

BACK
Cast on 64 stitches and, using color 002, work 8 rows in garter stitch. On the following right-side row, increase 20 stitches evenly across the row, then continue in stockinette stitch and work 56 rows (approximately 21 cm) to reach the armhole.
ARMHOLE
First decrease 3 stitches, then 1 stitch and 1 stitch on both sides; from here to the shoulder, work 47 rows (16 cm).
SHOULDER
Decrease 7 stitches, 7 stitches, and 7 stitches on both sides, then bind off the remaining stitches.
FRONT PIECES
Cast on 30 stitches, work 8 rows in garter stitch, increase 10 stitches on the same row, and continue in stockinette stitch. From here, count 52 rows, then begin shaping the pointed front closure, decreasing 1 stitch every 4 rows for a total of 12 stitches. Work the armhole and shoulders at the same height as the back. On the shoulder, decrease 8 stitches, 7 stitches, and 8 stitches, slightly differently from the back.
SLEEVE
Cast on 30 stitches in garter stitch and work 2 rows in each color (see photo). On the next row, increase 10 stitches evenly. The sleeve measures 22 cm up to the armhole. From the cuff, work 39 rows in one color, change to white, and work 22 rows up to the beginning.

ARMHOLE AND BACK NECK
Decrease 2 stitches first on both sides, then 1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 stitches, and bind off the remaining stitches.
POCKET
Cast on 22 stitches, work 6 rows in garter stitch, alternating colors, then continue in white stockinette stitch. The pocket measures 8 x 8 cm.
CONSTRUCTION
Sew the shoulders and pick up the stitches for the neckband, working it all in one piece: 6 rows in garter stitch. Make buttonholes on one side. Sew the side seams and sleeve seams, and attach the sleeves to the body. Sew on the pockets and buttons.
