Tissue sample
Guideline in single crochet (sc): 22 stitches × 30 rows = 10 × 10 cm . Knit and measure your swatch following this guide . Adjust your tension to get as close as possible; the size chart starts in centimeters , so you can always measure the hat as you work.

Step-by-step pattern (crochet)
Construction
It is knitted in the round from the crown downwards. The hat has two sections: regular increases until reaching the measurement of the "upper increasing section" and then a straight section to the "total length".
Abbreviations
sc = single crochet · inc = increase (2 sc in the same stitch) · sl st = slip stitch to close (optional) · ch = chain
Beginning and increases (crown)
- Round 0: magic ring, 6 sc . Close with a sl st or work in a spiral with a stitch marker.
- Round 1: all inc → 12 sc.
- Round 2: 1 sc, 1 inc repeat → 18 sc.
- Round 3: 2 sc, 1 inc repeat → 24 sc.
- Round 4: 3 sc, 1 inc repeat → 30 sc.
Continue the pattern (X sc, 1 inc) adding one stitch between increases in each round. Stop when the diameter of the circle reaches the measurement of the top increment of your size (see chart).
Straight section
Work rounds of single crochet without increases, maintaining the same number of stitches, until you reach the total length of the size. Optional: Change to crochet ribbing (e.g., alternating single crochet in the back loop only) in the last 3–4 rounds for a tighter edge.
Fold-over version (adult)
Knit an additional 5–7 cm straight. Fold them outwards like a cuff. This adds warmth and allows you to adjust the length.

Color ideas (2–3 shades)
- Classic stripes: change color every 6–8 rounds. E.g.: sand + linen + soft raspberry.
- Large blocks: 1/3–1/3–1/3 of the total height. E.g.: medium gray + mauve + off-white.
- Thin stripes: alternate 2 rounds of color A and 2 rounds of color B; finish with a border in color C.

For clean transitions in spiral work, use the " jogless stripes " change (offsetting the first color point). It is a technique to avoid the small diagonal line or step that appears when we knit colored stripes in a spiral , especially in hats, amigurumi or any work knitted in the round without closing rounds . To achieve a “jogless stripes” color change, knit a slip stitch with the new color at the beginning of the next row to shift the start and eliminate the jump between stripes .
Finish and care
- Finish the last round with an invisible slip stitch or a clean finish.
- Hide threads with a tapestry needle on the inside of the fabric.
- Block gently as directed on the yarn label. Shape the hat on a flat surface.
Tip: add a removable pompom with a button or interior loop so you can wash it without deforming.
